Krishna International School, Devipattinam is affiliated to CBSE (1930688), New Delhi. The curriculum followed in junior and senior classes is based on NCERT guidelines combined with several innovations which have been introduced after careful research and study. The school keeps abreast with the best pedagogical practices to maintain and deliver quality education. KIS paves a way to combine learning and playing as it believes in promoting independence, developing motivation that arises from a sense of autonomy and freedom, to encourage independent thinking, planning and problem solving.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten curriculum is structured to give the young buds in the age group 3 to 5, the warmth and security of home and help them at the same time to grow with confidence.The children are given ample space to grow and express themselves. Speaking and Listening are given great emphasis. Storytelling, picture talks, puppetry, art and music, are used as medium of communication to help them blossom into beautiful flowers.

Children are in the safe hands of qualified competent early childhood professionals @ two per class with an assistant who make it a magical transformation from home environment to school making it a home away from home.

Pre-Primary - Grade I and II

These are the foundation years of education, where various skills, preferences and abilities are developed. The School follows an integrated curriculum of the Council for the Central Board of Secondary Education.

We recognize that children at this level have their own unique abilities, interests, aspirations and expectations. Therefore, our curriculum in these classes is structured to encourage and motivate them to become self-confident, self-reliant and self-disciplined, and thus help them achieve full potential. Our teachers use multiple learning strategies to help students retain information and strengthen understanding.

A variety of strategies and methods are used to ensure that all students have equal opportunities to learn.

Primary - Grade III to V

The curriculum for grade III to V is theme-based. The idea behind this is to effortlessly integrate various subjects with a common thread which pertains to practical aspect of life. This gives our students a holistic view and allows them to apply knowledge and correlate various subjects to real-life situations. Young children learn from everything they do since they are naturally curious. Children learn better if more than one sense is involved in the learning activities. Opportunities for sensory stimulation are provided in the school through a variety of experiences. It is not surprising therefore that our children remain adventurous learners throughout their lives.

Languages, Tamil and Hindi are mandatory.Bharathiyar University certificate course for Computer Science and monthly magazine for General knowledge help students to keep abreast with current affairs.

Middle School – Grade VI to VIII

In the Middle School students build on the foundations laid in previous years. New challenges are met, as communication, reasoning, problem solving, and value judgment become more complex. Emphasis is given to application of knowledge achieved through differential teaching methodologies such as student-led presentations, research projects, and technology-led learning.Activity-based learning curriculum is designed promoting sufficient opportunities for exploration, understanding the concepts of hypothesis, experimental procedures, observations and interfaces and activities that students can relate to real life scenarios.Formal subjects like physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography and civics are introduced.

NCERT prescribed books are followed but the methodology of delivery is totally unique which has been developed in consultation with leading experts. Lessons are planned so, that the students get to learn their subjects in a practical manner with interdisciplinary projects and activities.Students pursue a common, comprehensive, academically-oriented curriculum, which prepares them for success in High School.

Secondary - IX and X

At the secondary level of education, KIS follows the standardized curriculum across the country established by the NCERT. The syllabus is very structured and controlled withStandardized Textbooks prescribed by the NCERT. Subject experts, scholars and professionals are also be invited for concept clarity in subjects .The students are trained in Time Management and Perfect presentation through mock tests preparing them for Board Examination.

Higher Secondary - XI and XII

Integrated NEET/ IIT-JEE Entrance coaching are offered for students of class XI and XII. The School has tied up with the First Bench Academy and the integrated coaching here is student centric, synchronized with school education as a coherent approach to utilize the time of student to its best. The coaching helps in increasing efficiency, confidence and reducing stress level thus minimizing the burden on students yielding maximum results through advanced level illustrations, worksheets and exercise sheets.

Soft skills & Life skills

It’s quite late by the time our youngsters come to realize that they are in need of soft skills though well qualified .That’s why KIS planned to cultivate it when they are young. This unique programme is a balanced and well planned blend of activities like talent show, assembly performance, public speaking ,campus cleaning , involving them in conducting blood donor camp, visiting orphanage, contributing in flood relief camp etc focusing on listening ,time management, communication, team work ,values and ethics.
